Bertha D. Leiby, 84, of Camp Hill, passed away on Monday September 4, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born on July 11, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bertha (Erdock) Dyszel and she was the widow of Richard N. Leiby.
Bertha was a veteran of the US Air Force who served during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. She was a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College receiving her Associates Degree in Social Work. Bertha was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She had also worked for the Board of Cumberland County Assistance where she provided assistance to people who needed heating for their homes.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Snyder and her husband Michael, of Lemoyne; and Mary Ann T. Leiby, of Torrance, CA; two sons, Michael R. Leiby, of Camp Hill; and Richard N. Leiby, II, and his wife Michele, of Washington, DC; a sister, Helen Nause, of Jim Thorpe; six grandchildren with one on the way, and one great grandchild.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Andy, John, Michael, and Pete Dyszel, and also a sister, Ann Eippert.
Burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
