Obituary for Helen Kistler

Helen Kistler, 98, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.
Born on August 28, 1919 in Elysburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian (Barnhart) Kistler.
Helen was a graduate of Landisburg High School and went on to receive her RN from Polyclinic School of Nursing. She was a US Army Veteran who served during WWII. Helen was a Surgical Nurse and Office Manager for Dr. Robert Stoner in Camp Hill. She worked for Dr. Stoner from 1947 until her retirement in 1983. Helen was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shiremanstown. She sang in the church choir and over the years served on various church boards. Helen was a dedicated Knitter and was very involved with the community of Messiah Lifeways.
She is survived by a niece, Helen L. Bryan and her husband Thomas, of Camp Hill, and their children, Katherine, Alexandra, Anne, and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice (Kistler) Ball.
All funeral services will be private and handled at the convenience of the family. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Lifeways Endowment Fund, 100 Mt. Allen Dr. Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
