Obituary for Alvena G. "Ween" Schriver
Alvena “Ween” G. Schriver, 96, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of Millersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA.
Born on December 30, 1920 in Elizabethville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sadie (Lenker) Schriver. Alvena was a graduate of Millersburg High School, class of 1938. She retired in 1983 from PP&L with 38 years in customer service at the Harrisburg office. She was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church in Millersburg.
Alvena is survived by her sister-in-law, Anna (Shelley) Schriver, of Mechanicsburg, PA; a niece Connie May and her husband Harlan, of San Diego, CA; a nephew, Carl R. Kuhn, Jr., of San Diego, CA; a grand-nephew, Andy May and his wife Debbie, of North Carolina; two grand-nieces, Abby Phillips and her husband Michael, of Buffalo, NY, and Kathy Kuhn, of Oak Hill, VA; and several additional great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Levin Schriver and Harry E. Schriver, Jr., and three sisters, Charlotte Green, Ethel Kuhn, and Lillian Hildebrand.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday December 22, 2017 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA, with Rev. Brand Eaton officiating. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be held following the service in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, PA.
