Obituary for John M. Zink

John M. Zink, 73, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday February 24, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
John was born on March 31, 1944 in Harrisburg, he is the son of the late Jack and Elsie (Gunderman) Zink. He was a graduate of Susquehanna Twp. High School and an Eagle Scout. John went on to receive his associates degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. While at HACC he was a member of the Chi Gamma Iota Fraternity. John was a veteran of the US Navy. He was retired from the Rite Aid Corporation in Camp Hill, where he was a Pilot for 41 years.
His true passion was flying but he was also a wood worker and enjoyed wood carving. He loved gardening, working on his model railroads, playing with his grandchildren and summer trips to Maine.
John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice (McKissick) Zink, of Camp Hill; a son, Brian Zink and his wife Karen, of Idlewild, MD; a daughter, Emily Zink, of Centre Hall; four grandchildren, Lily, Bodhi, Charlotte, and Cecilia; two brothers, Larry and Dann; and one sister, Marjorie; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A visitation with John’s family will be held between 10am and 12:00pm on Saturday, March 31st in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA.
