Obituary for Carl L. Mease
Carl L. Mease, 85, a longtime resident of Camp Hill, PA and resident of Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg for the past year, passed away May 27, 2018.
Carl was the son of the late Ivan Leibhart Mease and Minnie Dressler Mease of Hershey, PA. He was a graduate of Hershey High School and Trinity College in Connecticut.
Carl served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force after college. After his service he attended Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, PA. He was admitted to practice before the Dauphin County Court, Commonwealth Court Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Federal District Court, and United States Supreme Court.
After engaging in the private practice of law, Carl became an assistant attorney general with the Departments of Health and Environmental Resources. He had a distinguished career with the State Legislative Reference Bureau until his retirement as Director of the Bureau and was well respected by his colleagues.
Beloved husband of 59 years of Rose Ann (Sorber) Mease. Devoted father of David Mease and his wife Annette and Kevin Mease and his wife Karen. Loving grandfather of six grandchildren and one great grandson.
Carl is also survived by four sisters Helen Cumpston, Mary Jane Mease, Ruth Mease, and Adelia Sweigart (husband Dr. Jacob Sweigart) and two brothers Donald Mease and John Mease and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, James Mease and I. Robert Mease.
He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill PA, Dauphin County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees.
A private service will be held for the family followed by burial in Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
