Obituary for Emmie J. Jones (Van Der Eynden)

Emmie J.  Jones (Van Der Eynden)
Emmie J. (Van der Eynden) Jones, 80, of Lemoyne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 24, 1937 in Jakarta, Indonesia, Emmie was the daughter of the late Karel and Bertha (Dewilde) Van der Eynden.

After high school, Emmie went on to attend Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, VA. During her time studying Business, she met and married the love of her life Robert. They were married 61 years prior to his death in April.

Emmie and her husband Robert opened the Blue Dog Pet shop in 1977, offering pets, pet supplies and dog grooming services until their retirement. After retiring as a business owner, she went on to work for Members 1st FCU, from which she retired.

Emmie and her husband were avid motorcycle riders, and made many cross-country trips on their bikes. They also had a great love for dogs and bred and showed Champion Kerry Blue Terriers for many years.

Emmie is survived by daughter, Cindy (Jones) Thomas and husband David, and son Gary Jones and wife Melony. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters, Cheri (Thomas) Daniel and husband Marc, and Tracy (Thomas) Whitmoyer and husband Matt. Also 2 grandsons, Robert M. Jones and wife Beth, and Christopher Jones and wife Tammy. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren Ellie, Colin, Madeline, Chloe, Danielle and Eric.

A celebration of Emmie’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at the Mt. Calvary Episcopal Church, 125 N. 25th Street, Camp Hill. A visitation will be held at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held following the service at the church columbarium. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

There will be light refreshment served after the burial in the church under-croft.
