Obituary for Patricia M. "Pat" Anastasio

Pat Anastasio, 83, of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Morano) Mancinelli, and the widow of Eugene J. Anastasio, Sr., Esq.

A fixture in Camp Hill for generations, her joy was gathering her large family for a home cooked meal or in her spectacular back yard. While raising her children, she started a floral arranging business called Custom Designs, and later in life, Mrs. A worked at Camp Hill High School where she provided love to generations of her students. She also was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania State Bank and a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill.

Mrs. A’s welcoming home was always filled with love, laughter, and loud conversation. There was always a space at her table for anyone who was alone. Camp Hill families were sure to make a stop at her house on Halloween night, where she always handed out full-size candy bars.

Pat is survived by her four sons, Frank J. Anastasio and his Wife Sandra L., of Fuquay Varina, NC; David J. Anastasio, of Allentown; Paul J. Anastasio and his wife Alex, of Camp Hill; and Eugene J. Anastasio, Jr. and his wife Brenda, of Camp Hill; one daughter, Julia Anastasio, of Washington, DC; a brother, Frank Mancinelli, and sister Joan Galenas (Mancinelli), of Scranton, PA; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her husband and brother James, First Sargent (Ret.), preceded her in death. She will be remembered with love and will be missed by all.

A viewing for Pat will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 5th in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 E. Trindle Rd., Camp Hill,. An additional viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the Mass.
Forever a philanthropist, she hopes memorial contributions will be made in her name to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and American Heart Association.
