Obituary for Betty G. Kreitzer (Garver)

Betty Garver Kreitzer, 93, of Hampden Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her home.

She was born on September 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Ray Sr. and Margaret (Keville) Garver, in Hummelstown, PA.

While raising her family, she was actively involved with her late husband, Wilbert A. Kreitzer, Jr., operating the Silver Spring Speedway, Flea Market, Trailer Park, and Westwood Mobile Home Park in Ormond Beach, Florida.

She was a member of the Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, one of its Women’s Circles and helped with church meals. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, golf, world travel, and playing cards with friends and family. Her biggest joy was spending time with family, hosting Thursday night family dinners and avidly supporting the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She volunteered in many organizations throughout her life including New Hope Ministries.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Moyer, her brother, Ray A. Garver, Jr., and her son-in-law, Steven Greiner.

She is survived by her 5 children: Margaret, Gail, (Randy Wolfe), Alan (Sherry), Elizabeth (Craig Alvis), Kimberly Murphy (John), 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a good friend to many and will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 22, 2022, in Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, 444 Silver Spring Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA, with Pastor Don Wahlig officiating. A gathering will be held before the service on Friday, starting at 10:00 A.M., and also after the service, with light refreshments. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dillsburg, PA. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
