Michael Joseph Day, 44, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home.
Born on March 12, 1977, in Meadville, PA, he was the son of George W. and Christine L. (Clarkson) Day.
Michael was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. Michael was a US Navy Veteran who served during the Gulf War. He was a truck driver with Crete Carrier in Mechanicsburg, PA. Michael had a great sense of humor. Towards the end of his life one of his requests was to have Queen’s Song, “Another one Bites the Dust” played during his funeral procession. He loved to spend time traveling in his camper. Camping was his favorite time to relax, party, and shoot guns. He played the guitar and loved to cook, smoke meats, and was a master with the grill. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill, and the American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg and Post 956, Harrisburg.
Michael is survived by his mother, Christine L. (Clarkson) Day and her companion, Jim Dodd, of Camp Hill, PA; his father, George W. Day, Jr., of Indiana; a daughter, Aubrey R. Royse and her boyfriend Josh Ozio, of Harrisburg; two brothers, George W. Day, III and his wife Akashi, of Fredericksburg, VA, and John W. Day, of Dover, PA; a sister, Lorrie C. Clarkson, of Philadelphia; a half-sister, Megan Bowers and her husband Dustin Bowers, of Indiana; two nieces, Nina Day and Freedom Bowers; a nephew, Noah Day; a granddaughter, Paisley G. Ozio; a uncle, Joseph Balough and an Aunt Susan Balough of Donora, PA.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Amelia M. Clarkson, an uncle, Timothy W. Clarkson, and an aunt, Joann M. Beaver.
All funeral services will be private and burial with military honors will be handled at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, PA, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
